: Character Sheet Templates
: Nanshork June 21, 2017, 01:00:51 PM
If you're like me, myth-weavers and similar websites just don't cut it whether that's due to the sheets not meeting your needs, potential for data loss, or other reasons.  This thread is meant to be an index for character sheet templates to store your sheet directly on this board so you don't have to go anywhere else to see what you can do.

If you have a character sheet template that you would like to share, post it and I'll add it to the index.  Is there a character sheet template you wish someone would make for you?  I take requests.  I'm also open to suggestions to improve any of my existing character sheet templates.

Note: For all of my sheets you can quote the entire post and paste it into a new post, just remove the header and the quote blocks.  Some of my sheets (like the 3.5 and Pathfinder Character Sheets) make use of the preformatted text tag in sections so you'll want to preview those and make sure that the spacing still matches up before posting.

If you have a character sheet template that you would like to share, post it and I'll add it to the index.  Is there a character sheet template you wish someone would make for you?  I take requests.

I can post the format I'm currently using. It's modeled after the original monster statblock but tweaked just a hair for a little category grouping (like putting moving speed/size together). Instead of D&D's ambiguity of half-detailing bonuses I use something like Fort +9 [5b-1a+5r] so I only list the bonuses I need and I can tend to get away with a one letter abbreviation. Since pbps rarely update Skills are simply name, rank, bonus, which is no different than having to validate D&D's "mod" slot anyway. The text size is reduced simply to compact the display down, and I spoiler abilities with short descriptions to help even more, but that come at the cost of having to read some bb code. Anyway, depending on the character, I may also include Senses at the top with movement and Immunity/Resists below AC but this example doesn't do either.

And I've been using a more abbreviated version for stuff like followers since their full combat information is often irrelevant, lower level & less gear means less space, and typical lack of level progression means extra details are just wasted space. All that trim through lets me position the character image to the side rather than above through.

I hope you like them.

They very definitely aren't my style, I need space for notes (as you can tell by looking at my 3.5 sheet).   :P

Oh I like notes but I just don't want them being obtrusive.

Like take the D&D style you've copied.
:
   Score Mod    Temp Mod
Str: 10  +0      10  +0
You have no way of knowing what you started with, racial mods (r), level ups (l), inherent bonuses (i), and what does it mean by temporary. Like Persisted Bite of the Wearbear or Rage temporary? Why not track Rage in game? And what about the Chameleon's focus, it lasts just as long as a Persisted Spell but can you recall what it was applied to to handle changing it? You need notes to understand stuff like this, and I simply try to fit a majority those notes in the same width as the word "understand" takes up.  :)

Temporary is for things that aren't permanent.  Persisted spells aren't permanent.  :P

For stuff like Rage I'll just make a second combat block.  Racial mods can go in the Racial Features spoiler, and if you really want to keep track of where all the rest of your bonuses come from just write it out in the Special section under the stats.

You are supposed to track the duration of that Spell in-game so I include short duration buffs in my status area that is spoiled in every post during Encounters. So I don't write multiple combat blocks for every possible combination I use, rather I realize what adjustments need to be made in my rolls as I look up what my HP total is supposed to be this round.

Racial mods can go in the Racial Features spoiler, and if you really want to keep track of where all the rest of your bonuses come from just write it out in the Special section under the stats.
Yep, and when something complicated happens, like Polymorph, you have to open multiple spoilers and compare then to literally arrays of information since you have multiple ability scores (and apparently combat blocks). I can revalidate by ignoring "+2r" and treating "+2a" as a +3.

Plus we're getting into something else, like do you keep your AC against Antimagic listed? No? Ditto, except I treat Persisted Eagle's Splendor just like that too. Details are, as mentioned, all tucked away into a single spoiler anyway.

But like I said, I'm using a short more compacted version that clears up ambiguity. Work with what works for you and adjust as needed.

You say Rage and I assume Barbarian, just fyi.

My main point is that your spoiler creates more ambiguity for me with how I organize things.  I've made spoilered short term status changes to my character sheet, I don't really see why you're so against my organization.

Huh?

Pretty sure I just recommended for you to use yours because it works for what you're wanting.

If I have to be against someone's organization, is Trump's an option?
