Advertising to lost members
« on: June 22, 2017, 01:12:32 AM »
I know we have announcements to draw in members from the old boards on rule of cool, GitP, and the Den, and I posted one at rpg.net  Is there anywhere else we need to post?  For example are there threads at EN world, roll20 or Myth Weavers?

There are about 7,919,900 phone numbers in the US and through phone number portability it's really hard to pin down what's a cell or not so just send a mass text to all of them.
I'm working on the rest, it'll be up soon.

Where is Bunkos?
In the One Stop Shop along with Class Boosters (including epics & teamwork) & ACFs.

I would use Reddit, the other D&D forums, and maybe take a look, see if there's a large D&D facebook group or two.

Maybe dndbeyond
but there'd be lots of non-c.o.-ers poking around.

That's not really an issue, honestly. None of us knew how to CO when we first picked up D&D.

Good point.
We also don't have enough 5e material (yet) to keep pure newbs occupied for long.

I'll go do one now.

Personally, this is my only D&D forum. I found it by googling it when the site was gone and there was a thread on Giant in the Playground. I think people who were at all active, even minimally will slowly creep back in as they find the forum.

Bad.

I posted a 3 sentence blurb atdndbeyond.
They took it down almost immediately.

So lets see, that means:
a) lots of Justin Bieber fans over there
b) they believe in the virgin birth of d&d forums, no marketing, no market, nothing came before
c) i have a higher blockage rate there, than PLZ at giantitp

Sometimes the best things get deleted... I'll try dndbeyond for ya. You keep posting at giantitp.

Asked permission to post on roll20 and I still haven't heard anything (they're quite touchy about what you post and where)

That's about what I expect over there. It all looked too good to be true. And it was. I only have only checked out their stuff once, but it was the most toxic response I've ever gotten from a D&D place. I was in awe.
Sigh. Not again. :(
